We are a Sustainable Small Local Business
Sustainability is the foundation of everything we do at BIKEALOT. From building our shop with repurposed materials, to our passion for restoring quality old-school bikes for another generation of good-green-fun transportation, we are devoted environmentalists. Our in-store selection of parts, packs, tools, accessories, and even coffee, are chosen for their value because we believe quality products conserve our planet's resources and save our customers money in the long run. Whenever possible, we also choose products from companies that are socially responsible, contributing to a good quality of life for the people who make their products. Scroll on to see some of the brands we are proud to carry that innovate to make cycling even more Earth & human friendly.
In many ways, our store reflects our green values. We participate in Austin's GreenChoice® program, so our shop runs on 100% wind power. We consciously chose a small space to keep our overhead low so we can help keep cycling affordable for our customers. We absolutely love our virtually indestructible re-used basketball court floors! We maximized our inventory space by making our merchandise slat walls out of pallet boards mounted over pre-painted plywood from a Halloween haunted house that was closing. Our shelves are repurposed side panels from vintage pin ball machines, gifted to us by a friend who fixed arcade games. In our spare time, we have fun making functional art out of spent bike parts. We also sell vegan sports nutrition products that are great for our health, the animals, and the planet - WIN/WIN/WIN!!!
Whether you're taking a stand for the environment, and/or looking for quality bikes, gear, and service that will stand the test of time, we hope you'll find what you're looking for at BIKEALOT.

The Plant Based Treaty
As a companion to the UNFCCC/Paris Agreement, The Plant Based Treaty initiative is a grassroots campaign designed to put food systems at the forefront of combating the climate crisis. Modeled on the popular Fossil Fuel Treaty, the Plant Based Treaty aims to halt the widespread degradation of critical ecosystems caused by animal agriculture and to promote a shift to healthier, sustainable plant-based diets. We are urging scientists, individuals, groups, businesses and cities to endorse this call to action and put pressure on national governments to negotiate an international Plant Based Treaty.
BIKEALOT supports The Plant Based Treaty and you can too - just follow the link to learn what you can do.
